Both Ranger and elf looked up as a birdcall reached them. Many would dismiss the sound as natural but both knew better.

“Mae govannen,” Strider stated as the other Ranger appeared.

“Mae Govannen,” He returned. “I bring a message from the gate.”

Strider accepted the message tube silently, having guessed the origin of the message as the Ranger was one of those stationed there in case of problems.

Reading it quickly he looked up at Legolas, “Jack is wishing to speak with us.”

“Then let us go see what it is about.”
